Frequently Asked Questions
Are you taking new clients? Yes! We currently serve the central and eastern Connecticut region, traveling as far west as Northford and Bethany and as far east as the Rhode Island border. If you aren’t sure if you’re in our practice range, fill out this form, and we’ll get back to you.
I have an emergency! Can you help? We provide emergency care for current patients, which we define as an equine that has been seen for an exam and/or wellness care in the past 12 months. At this time, we don’t see emergencies for non-clients.
Where is your office located? Millington Equine is an ambulatory practice, meaning we are not based out of an office. However, we do have a location for pickups: 1 Ferry Road in Hadlyme (the cottage next to the post office). If you need to get a hold of us, the best way to do so is by email or by phone. We will try to get back to you as soon as we can.
Do you have weekend appointments? We do not schedule regular appointments on the weekends, and we try not to schedule the last appointment of the day after 3 pm to allow some wiggle room for emergencies that may arise.
Do you see non-equine animals? While we love dogs, cats, livestock, and other furry creatures, we only see equines (horses, donkeys, and mules). We aren’t experienced with small animal or ruminant medicine, and you’d be served better by others.
